This one-day seminar will focus on advanced measurement methods required to fully characterize automotive audio and infotainment systems. The discussion will include using real-world signals (music and speech), open-loop measurements using stepped-sine, multitone, and log-chirp excitation, perceptual measurements of Bluetooth speech and music codecs, and characterizing audio delay. This seminar is intended for engineers and technicians already familiar with the Sequence and Bench Modes of APx500 audio measurement software.

Speakers - Dan Foley & Chris Gill

Dan Foley is an experienced sales engineer with a background that includes nearly three decades of audio experience. He has worked as the U.S. Manager of the Environmental Noise Group at Brüel & Kjær, in addition to spending 6 years as the VP of Sales at Listen, Inc. and 5 years at Bose Corporation. He is an expert in the field of acoustics and has extensive experience with audio-related standards committees, including those associated with the IEEE, AES, and Bluetooth SIG organizations. Dan is also President of ALTI, the Association of Loudspeaker Manufacturers and Acoustics.

As AP’s field applications engineer for the Western United States, Chris Gill leverages audio expertise garnered from 20+ years working for, or representing, brands such as Brüel & Kjær, Mackie, Shure, Bose Professional and DBX. With his extensive audio test experience and a strong foundation in the pro audio, MI and installed sound industries, Chris is well-suited to helping IC manufacturers, cutting-edge technology creators and customers working in electro-acoustic applications.
